Theresa Tang is a passionate health leader who believes in building emerging leaders to pursue an understanding of unmet needs in their communities, consider the future, and engage in activities to foster innovative and sustainable solutions to social and health challenges. She was the Curator of Global Shapers Calgary in 2018/19 and is the Co-Chair for Emerging Health Leaders in Calgary. Theresa enjoys volunteering with programs that support vulnerable populations and faith based organizations.
Theresa is currently leading a Population Health portfolio at the Alberta Medical Association. This work has included being part of leading the province’s primary care response to the opioid crisis and developing community partnerships to screen and reduce the impacts on individuals living in poverty. She has also worked at Alberta Health Services, the World Health Organization in Geneva, supported evidence informed policymaking in Australia and had a wide range of opportunities in hospitals in Ontario.
