City-builder, public policy researcher, hip-hop aficionado.

Jason Ribeiro is one of Canada’s most awarded social science graduate researchers. By intimately researching cross-sector partnerships (organizations comprised of public, private, and non-profit resources) and measuring their sustainability and innovation potentials, Jason offers new perspectives on developing innovation ecosystems and fostering community partnerships.

Jason has represented Canada at the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings, United Nations Peacekeeping Defence Ministerial, and Young Leaders Program of Atlantik-Brücke. His multidisciplinary background has enabled him to craft both economic and social policy at the municipal and provincial levels. A passionate leader, Jason currently sits on boards and standing committees within Sport Calgary, EducationMatters, ActiveCITY Calgary, and the Calgary Public Library. He also weighs in regularly on civic affairs as a commentator for CBC. Jason’s goal this year for Global Shapers Calgary is simple – develop a robust platform for the next-generation of Calgary leaders to begin shaping the future of our city.
